About Us
MinecraftLayer was founded in 2011 as a child company of the web hosting business NickHost.net (founded 2006). MinecraftLayer (also known as MCLayer) is run by experienced hosts who love Minecraft! Every client matters to us, which is why we put so much effort into our customer service. Minecraft hosts are popping up everywhere, but two things set MCLayer apart: our great prices and our excellent customer service. MCLayer's servers are hosted in the PhoenixNAP datacenter. We plan to expand to the east coast (USA) in the near future, and possibly Europe as well. All of our nodes run on Xeon Quad Core CPUs (w/ HT and Turbo), SSDs, and DDR3 RAM. Our top quality hardware keeps lag down and client satisfaction up.

Support and Management
MinecraftLayer provides full server support. This means we will:
Install your server
Transfer your world
Install and edit Bukkit plugins
And do pretty much anything else you need
Every server also comes with the McMyAdmin control panel. McMyAdmin allows you to easily manage your server by:
Starting and stopping your server
Saving and backing up your world
Updating minecraft_server.jar, craftbukkit.jar, etc.
Editing and updating plugins
Editing server files (whitelist, ops, server.properties, etc.)
Using commands in the chat interface

FAQs
How long does VPS setup take?
We provision each VPS individually, but we usually have your VPS up and running within a few hours after we receive your payment.
How can I pay?
Currently we only accept PayPal. In addition to using your PayPal balance or bank account, you can also use PayPal to pay with a credit or debit card.
How long have you been in business?
MCLayer was founded in August 2011 by the owner of NickHost.net (founded in July 2006). Although we have not been hosting under the MCLayer name for very long, we have plenty of hosting experience.
What's the best way to get help when I need it?

How many slots/players can I have on my server?
We do not have slot limits. Please see above for our recommendations, though.
Do you have a money back policy?
Yes, we provide full refunds up to 7 days after your initial purchase.
What kind of hardware do you use?
We run our VPSs on Xeon Quad Core X3470 CPUs (2.93 GHz w/ HT and Turbo) using SSDs and DDR3 RAM. We offer one of the best configurations for chunking and lag.
Can I store backups on my server?
Yes, you can store anything on your server that fits within your allocations. We also have daily remote, automated backups to give you peace of mind.
What OS do you use?
We use CentOS 5.6 on all of our servers.
What kind of virtualization do you use?
We only use Xen for our VPSs (as opposed to OpenVZ). We made the decision to go with Xen because of the benefits it provides to our clients. Xen is true virtualization, keeping each VPS separate and safe. Xen also does not allow for overselling. You can trust that you are getting all of what you pay for from us.
Do you offer discounts?
We usually have a promotion or two running, but our prices are already relatively low. You can also get HALF A MONTH FREE if you prepay 6 months or 2 FULL MONTHS FREE if you prepay 12 months. We are able to create custom plans for those who need them. You can also sign up for our affiliate system to earn some money towards your server.
Do you offer web hosting?
Yes, we are partnered with NickHost.net to provide discounted shared web hosting to our customers. Simply talk to us and request a promo code for NickHost.net.
