most righteous write-up man! many thanks and i'm looking forward to trying this out.

i just built a new server 2008 std VM, figured that would be okay seeing it looked as if you were using win 7 (same kernel as 2008), and i downloaded all of the files.

was able to install visual c++ 2008 express, mysql 5.1, tortoise svn and navicat without issue.

like Viridiel posted above, the problems come in when entering "svn://arcemu.info/svn/" into the SVN Checkout's URL of Repository

I get an error stating:

Error Unable to connect to a repository at URL arcemu.info/svn/
Error Can't connect to host 'arcemu.info: A connection attempt failed beacue the
Error connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or
Error established connection failed because connection to the host has failed to respond

when I try to skip this step and go to the next, entering svn://svn.xp-dev.com/svn/whydb-users/ in the SVN Checkout URL

I get an error stating:

Checkout from svn://svn.xp-dev.com/svn/whydb-users, revision HEAD, Fully recursive, Externals included
Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn://svn.xp-dev.com/svn/whydb-users'
Can't connect to host 'svn.xp-dev.com': No connection could be made because the
target machine actively refused it.

any help from the wow server guide expert?!
