Uhm, the Sony V6 has a strange treble coloration that works decently for rock, they're at the bottom end of your budget, and are incredibly durable. On the higher end, you could go for the Ultrasone HFI580; they're much more energetic than the V6 and are almost as durable.

Saw that seconds before you posted. Right in the feels. Guess I'll be getting the HTC DNA instead. I'll have to flash a vanilla Jelly Bean ROM immediately because it has Beats Audio and I guess a little sandpaper would get the logo off.

The DNA looks especially good; I wish I wasn't stuck with my Amaze. We're getting close to CM10 though.

Guess I'm buying a Q701 after all. Now I just need to decide on a color. They all look pretty nice, but the black sticks out as the classiest, and the freak inside me wants the green ones.

So I went to my local Best Buy and saw an ENTIRE aisle for niceish headphones. The Sony X10 was first. It was pretty bad; the Monster Inspiration was much better, and the UE6000 was better than that. I have a $70 gift card to BB so the UE6000 is kind of tempting. It'd compliment the Q701 quite well. But the fact that their pads are non-removable is a deal breaker because that makes their use life essentially two years before the pads deteriorate.

they are 5010-8 Metallic (not a lot of reviews) and RHA MA-350(lots of reviews on amazon and lots are good)
