WsM-ProdiGy wrote I need an amplifying device that would go good with the sony xb 500's i dont really have a budget so if you could give me a few with different prices.

For the XB500s, an amplifying device seems pretty superfluous, but if you must check out fiio's line of products. The e6 is a great entry level offering. The e7 is a popular, more powerful version of the e6 but it is more expensive. For desktop amplification, the e7 will dock with a product called the e9, creating a superior sound, but the e7 remains detachable and useable on its own. Great option for its flexibility.
Zim

EDIT: The e7/e9 is a solid amplification solution for headphones approaching the $4-500 range, so if you plan on upgrading eventually, it may be better to spring for the better deal in the long run instead of having to upgrade amps alongside headphones.

Since the 500s are only 50 bucks, I would not recommend an amp that costs twice as much. The Fiio E6/E5, PA2V2 (Ebay), or cMoy BB (their site) would be a better choice. A DAC is unnecessary at this price point. Also remember a line out connector for iDevice listening. The Fiio L3 or L9 would be a good option at the price range.

Which genres you'll be listening to: Rap, R&B, Instrumentals

What kind you want: Over ear or on ear

Whether you want open or closed headphones: Either is fine.

For on-ear, the Koss Portapros, Koss KSC75, or Koss KSC35 are the best. There's just nothing better under 100 bucks.

For on-ear, the Sony XB 700s or the Koss DJ100. I would definitely go with the latter as they are about the best at the price point.

This is relevant to the topic HOW again? Read the OP.

That's a terrible idea, anyway. It's not my life, or my money, though. Just remember, at the register/checkout, that you can get better headphones in every respect for 70 bucks.

Remember how I said you could get better for 70 bucks? I lied. It's under 50.

Haha, you're welcome!

Many have tried. All have failed.
