i dropped this thread due to the lack of support by people but i keep seeing more and more help me threads so i will dry to grave digg this thread and help more people.

ROOTING YOUR PHONE CAN RESULT IN A BRICKED DEVICE, DO AT YOUR OWN WILL I AM NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR MISTAKES OR RESULTS. ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DEVICE AND ITS CONTENTS IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG!

What Is Root?

Don't know what root is? Confused on what it means? Rooting your phone is a process to unlock full control of your phone. Cell companies lock your android devices in order to prevent people from ruining their phones by various methods, and keeping the buyer from having access to everything. Rooting is unlocking your phone in order to unlock its full potential.

ROMs

ROMs are what you call an Operating System for the phone. There are several different kinds, some focus on speed and smoothness, while others focus on building with the next release of an android version, and others focus on options and customization. Two of my favorite roms that have been ported to essentially every device are CyanogenMod and MIUI. Both have websites and the latest downloads easily accessible. I advise once you root your phone try out a large number of ROMs and see what works for you and you think looks sweet. Also there are different custom themes for each ROM so check those out too.

Rooting Your Phone

For most phones Jordan's thread found here will tell you how, its a great guide.

For Phones that are not supported by that method there is a method using a process called Unrevoked found [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .it is easy to follow, has all the downloads you will need, and a support wiki too. the phones that are supported are as follows:
EVO 4G
Hero
Wildfire
Aria
Desire
Incredible

For other phones besides those i will post the way to root them but in the mean time just ask and i will provide the info for you

with the Dinc you may have rooted it but have you flashed a custom rom? cause the stock rom on the Dinc doesnt allow you to just overclock it. but if you have flashed a custom rom or do the app you will want it call setcpu. it costs 2 bucks if you want to pay it. there are other apps that are free and do it but i think setcpu is easiest, looks the best, and is reliable. also there are ways to get setcpu for free if you really were cheap but that is pretty low. anything else?

I dont mean to be rude, but there is no question in that. you gave me a statement, and a false one at that. there is just no google dev phone. there is the google nexus s, which is sim unlocked, and a android dev phone. I would figure out which it is and then ask me a question which i assume is why is it not 2.2 or GB 2.3.
