Toothpaste
A cheap way can be to use toothpaste make sure it has not got any hard parts in it just has to be plain then rub it on the disc in circular motions keep on for a minute or so then wash it of with water and a soft cloth they try that - this fills the scratched surface and may possibly work

Shop
you can take it to your local store: Gamestation, gamestop etc. they all have the machines and charge you a small fee or sometimes they do it for free say you bought the game from the and lost the receipt and say can you just clean it to see if that work

Download game on Hdd
Get a friend with the same game and download that onto your Hdd once that is done you will be able to play it with the scrated disc as it is running of the Hard drive

Contact the game producer
some companies such as Activision or Microsoft offer replacement discs for a small fee go onto [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] or [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Ways to prevent laser burn
Laser burns occur when your xbox is moved whilst a game is running but usually caused by the xbox falling down or accidental knockage so the best way to stop that would lye your xbox down on a flat surface away from the edge to it cannot fall also you can stop it by installing the game on your hard drive before playing this means the disc will not be spinning and will cause it not to be broken if it does fall down.

Thanks for looking i spent some time in doing this and hope you all enjoy it and prevent yourselves losing the games you have purchased.
