There has been an areoplane crash in greater Manchester
The areoplane has crashed into two houses

The police do not know if anyone is dead


It is believed that the areoplane hade engine problems and then crashed

update:A light aircraft has crashed into two properties in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to Newlands Avenue in Peel Green, Salford, just after 12.20pm following reports that a plane had come down on to houses.

In a statement police said: "Officers attended and discovered a light aircraft had come down and collided with two properties. A cordon is in place and the other emergency services are also working at the scene."

The number of injuries is unclear

It is now known that 2 people have been badly burnt

A man in his late 50s and a 21-year-old man were taken by air ambulance to hospital.

North West Ambulance Service said: "There were two patients on board who both suffered burns. A man in his late 50s had 70% burns and a man aged 21 had 60% burns. Both were taken by the North West Air Ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital. We have had no reports of any other casualties."

A police cordon is in place and people are being asked to avoid the area.
