Alien-ware you pay for the logo. apple you pay for a logo.

TBH as good as they seem they are rubbish don't go for these i recommend an AMD/ATI, these are decent quality, if you are looking for performance and live near bradford/leeds/manchester you can get a VERY high performance for under 400, but it will be a tower, however they do custom laptops!, and they arevery very good and can have the parts exchanged and fitted, slong as you have the money and can get instore!,

google CCL computers!, its an awesome store and they do clearance stuff every week!

If you can find the equivalent of this in the UK, you are golden. GTX 560M (Gimped a little in this model, I think, but still a great chipset). I think this is a Best Buy exclusive model, though.

I can't help but recommend you build a desktop oriented towards gaming and get a regular laptop. That way you get the best of both worlds. if you have LANs in mind, build an mATX desktop like the one I currently have in mind. The thing about gaming laptops is that are not really portable (unless you feel like carrying the massive thing and a couple extra batteries around), they are more transportable. They are meant to be placed on a desk and lugged to a different desk every once in a while. They are not versatile at all.
