If it's not for gaming then it's fine but if it is for gaming it could use improvement. A dual core won't cut it for games. Most games require at least a 3-core processor. The graphics card is very low end and will probably not do you much good. If you plan on upgrading your graphics card I recommend a Radeon 6950. It requires you to have a higher wattage power supply which a 650W should do you fine. The case is fine. A RAM update is definitely a good idea. You do need a 64 bit OS if you plan on putting more than 4 GB of RAM. A 32 bit OS limits you. Also what is your motherboard? That sometimes will limit to what you can do with the computer.

A dual core is fine if its in his budget?
Only BF2 right now utilizes more then 2 cores so what?
But that graphics card is no,
for for a gtx 560 or 6950, either or.

PS: i would at least go with a good i5 dual core that uses hyper threading.
Yes a dual core would be fine but new games will come and will utilize more than 2 cores. My 3-core 3.3 GHz only cost me 70 bucks so it's not that big of a deal. And actually there are a lot of games that use more than 2 cores.

Most games can't even utilize more then one core. As for the rest of your info, its pretty good.

A lot of games use over 3 cores. But I don't even know what games he would play on it. If it were just like COD 4 or GTA: SA it would be fine but if it was BC2 or GRID he would definitely need a 3-core processor. That's why I said that. Like you said MOST but not ALL.

Yes, at very very very low resolutions with the lowest settings. Go for it. It's not my PC.
