Hey this is kind of a dumb question but owell. Can i use the same usb to put patches on my jtag as i do with my retail. Like the little usb wouldnt contain files from the retail that would mess up the jtag right? And if so would there be anyway to completely wipe the usb's memory?

Plus rep to the most detailed response thanks 8)

yes it should be fine, to format the the usb for use with your computer or jtag(patches)put it into the pc click on my computer then once you see the usb device right click and format. keep it fat32 or for moving profiles, dlc, gamesaves and stuff format it on the xbox using the system settings, memory, then configure device. it may say some thing like its not a proper xbox device but it will work 100%
hope this clears it up
