I leave mine on 24/7 it's been running since May 13th hasn't had any problems so good luck over heating

don't open it because it will then void the warranty on it and you won't be able to return it. just block off the ventilation especially the fans in the back

This is how I did mine..

Wrap the XBOX in very and I mean very wet towels. Turn it on and leave it on until it turns itself off(Yes, it will turn itself off when it gets too hot).

Now, before you turn it back on, literally pour water straight through the side. Pour however much you want, I poured loads in.

Now wrap it up again and turn it on, the motherboard should be fried by now. If not, pour more water in.

Now for the most important step. Now remove all the wet towels, replace with dry ones. Then get a hairdryer, turn it to it's most hottest setting and place at the end of the XBOX. This will make sure the motherboard gets extra fried BUT will also remove all evidence of water for when you send it off.

Sorry for the essay. This method works best IMO. Oh, and never open it up lol
