Motherboard is overkill unless you plan on Tri-SLI or something crazy.

RAM should be faster (1600 Mhz CL7 would be better)

PSU can be much smaller (Look at the Seasonic 750 watt with 80+ Gold certification and modular cables. With this sort of build, a high-quality PSU is a must.).

Go with the 2500K over the 2600K unless you use highly threaded applications like encoders, heavy editors, etc. You won't see any difference in games between the two.

Get 2 of the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB drives instead of the Deskstars (F3s are the best 1TB drives around. They are faster and more reliable than anything at their price point.) Also diitch the 500 GB drive and get an SSD to boot from or use SSD caching with a Z68 board, you will not regret it!

I personally thing fan controllers and other things that go in 5.25 inch bays look pretty tacky, but, like the case, it's all personal preference.

And NO, Alienware does not give you a good deal. Building your own lets you get a lot more value from your dollar and lets you know a thing or two about your system. If you have a 580 in the trash, you should be drawn and quartered immediately.

- You don't need a 400$ MOBO with your parts.

- Get a nice 150$ MOBO.

- With the money you save get a 120 gb SSD for windows.

You can pack your bags and GTFO of this sub-forum.

You'll want an i5-2500k like others have said. An i7 is just not needed.

And is 16GB RAM even needed? You seem to have put in the price list "4 x 4GB RAM". Unless you just meant 4GB.
