yes, but you need a jailbreak and either need to jailbreak, change patches then update

or

have 2 PS3's
jailbreak ONE PS3 and update the other

change patches on the jailbroken one and than data transfer and you can stay updated AND jailbroken

See I have the Xbox in my family and my brother has the PS3. I use PS3 for now because I ran out of XboxLive. All he uses the PS3 for is Netflix. So I dont want to screw with his system.

Also...jailbreaking is the same thing as JTAG right? Will it change anything about the PS3 or Netflix? Will I be able to use everything? It wont screw anything up correct? Can I undo a jailbreak if I wanted to?

what firmware is it on? it MUST be on 3.55 or below if its updated you cant do it anyway
