I was attempting to fix a bad flash,Everything was going fine until I hit the Set Dvd key buttom in Xellous(when you enter the ip in the address bar) Now the drive is dead and only boots xellous from both the power and eject buttons.

The drive never worked before, think I messed up swapping KV's.
Anyone any Ideas of how to fix this?Don't care about the drive just want it to boot the Dash!
Plz help!!

Make sure that your dvd drive is plugged in. If thats not the case, have your original nand, rename it UPDFLASH put it on the USB plug it in the top usb port of the jtag boot xell and let it self update. Once done turn it off. Boot back up but once you have done this, you will have to rejtag the console.

Thanks for your input:
I dont have an original nand I bought it with out one. The last working image I have is 12611 but the drive gives the play dvd error. I have since found out that the Set dvd key function reads the dvd key from the Key Vault and instructs the dvd drive to store
that key in its firmware. It doesn't not store the dvd's OSIG in the
Key Vault and it does not Flash the DVD firmware. But that might as well be chineese to me!

What you could do is take a fresh dump off the console, remap the bad blocks and reflash it back. Not sure, could you notask the Original owner to see if he has the dumps and information regarding your console ?

plug a different drive into your console and see if it will boot with the power button. dont wory about the key! see if that works.

you can also get your cpu key from xell and build a freeboot image that is designed for haveing no dvd drive (click the tab) in your console. then name it updflash and you know the rest!
