I just got braces yesterday... I have a slit overbite and when i try to eat REAl food like cheeseburgers and stuff my top row of teeth hit the lower brackets that settle on the lower row of teeth. My teeth are soooooooo sore from all the work the orthodontist did on them that i can barely even talk. So for those who already have or had braces what do i do? Can i take anything to make them feel better? What can i eat? So far the orthodontist has told me that ill only need them for 2 more years!

Lol your braces won't straighten out your teeth until your 2nd month (at the least) and as for eating real food you will soon get used to eating "normal" food. You should just eat icecream and soup and yogourt for a week ;)

eat really soft foods and you will be fine. Its hard having braces. Luckily for me i have 98% straight teeth so i didnt have to have them. Just push through it man

Don't eat hard things.
Eat soft and anti-breakable food.
Ice-cream.
Soup.
Yogurt.
Any juice.

I have braces and mine were like that to if i were you i would just eat softer food for a while and maybe take some tylonol (i think i spelled that wrong but oh well). You should eventually just get used to it. if it doesnt get better within a week i would go and talk to your orthodontist.

Hope I helped and hope you feel better.

I had braces for 3 years and when they first put them on it was hell just tough it out, it's worth it in the end.
