Need to know if I can create a button or badge in PS and import it into illustrator.
Needs to be saved in vector format. Is this possible?

Just group it all together & drag into photoshop.

It'll do all the rest of the work for you.

Making something in photoshop and then importing to illustrator won't make it vector. You'll have to live trace it and tbh, isn't that great if you are doing it on "GFX". If you need a vector format, do it in illustrator yourself because what you want to do, won't make it vector.

This is what I thought the correct answer was.
So to create a web page layout and save it in vector I have to do the whole thing in illustrator?

Pretty much.
Photoshop has a new "vector shape" thing. It makes it shapes "vector" until you rasterize it.
For a web design you don't really need it vector though unless you plan on resizing it to the size of a poster etc..

Yeah I need each thing on the page to be vector.
I have to turn it in to someone. So I can make vector shapes in PS or can I do the same in illustrator.

Ok I need to transfer a paisley/filigree type thing to illustrator.
This is all I know. I have to turn it in as a "scaleable vector file"
In both .PNG, .AI, and .EPS.

So how do I get an object like a paisley brush, into illustrator to use.
It seems like I can only find the brushes for photoshop.
Can I use use a brush to create a vector shape and import it into Illustrator?
