My acer laptop needs to formatt the harddrive but when i got to do it via the windows disc it comes up saying no hard drive can be detected but there is one in it please help

try the F11 or F10 key on start up. just keep hitting it until recovery menu comes up.

Hmm well maybe the hard drive thats in it isent compatabal with the computer im not sure if it doesent work ring the acer compant and ask why or something ??

Sorry i didn't read post that well have you checked on your bios and see if the drive is listed if it is make sure it's set to priority drive. also make sure your disk drive is listed and enabled in your bios.

Sorry i should of put this in the main part of post but it is unable to boot as it pops up with blue screen stating blahdy blahdy blah lol

does it even boot the bios first you should atleast see a simple screen that says Acer before the blue screen if not then it's your motherboard.
