Ok so I did some research after killing George in a game and he dropped the wunderwaffe instead of the death machine. At first I thought it was because I had started the easter egg but the fuse didn't spawn. But today NGT Zombies posted this video and one of the uploader comments caught my eye.

According to Spiderbite if you finish the easter egg at all any time in the future you kill george you will get the waffe even if its a different game. (check the comments)
