As ********* was playing the game he discovered that you can not be in an Xbox Live Party while playing Modern Warfare 2. The game forces you to leave the party before you select the game type you want to play. The only game type you can play while still being in a party is Free for All. This is not going to fly in my opinion, not being able to talk to a friend who is at the dashboard because you are playing multiplayer on MW2 is not cool at all...

Edit: We have found more information. After speaking with an Infinity Ward worker we have found that his doesnt affect all game types. It will only affect some of them (there is not an official list though) Game Types like S&D will not have parties allowed because he argued that when you die you should not be able to talk to players that are alive...

********* has found a bypass. You just have to leave the party and select the desired game type. Then once the game starts up you can go back into the party and it wont stop you. It also wont kick you from the party once the game is over and you go back into the pre-game lobby. Easy bypass.

Wow... if this is true it kind of just ruins it, what were expected to play by ourselves and not be able to talk to our friendss, and Modern Warfare 2 needs communication for many games, or will we have to go to game chat were a bunch of screaming kids shout down their microphone (This is not always true though some people in Game chat are allright)

That defeats the whole reason for the Party concept. That was the only way I could play Halo. It gets really annoying hearing every smack talking 8 year old working their cake hole in the pre game lobby.

I sure hope they fix that.

its 100% no party chats in any game mode apart from free for all its a pain and im not happy about it as well i think this is one of the big thumbs downs for MW2 so far its a really bad move and they need to put it back the way it was because its not fair on other people who dont have MW2 because you will be unable to talk to anyone unless they are in your game wtf? like casca said it defeats the whole reason concept of party chats
