Ok so i have decided to try and 'jailbreak' my LG GT540 phone but i've followed the steps below.
How to Root the LG Optimus GT540 Steps:
Turn on the device and click the icon to open the phone dialer
Enter the code 3845#*540#
Select the option Module Test, then Stability Test then Enable Root Permission
You will now be prompted for a password enter :SWIFT::GT540:
A toast message will briefly appear saying OK your root access is now enabled!
Reboot your device, and now when you connect via ADB, youll see you have a root prompt (#).
And after Stability Test option is clicked i only have the following options.
Data Abort
Prefetch Abort
Kernel Panic
and Abort by user mode
The information for my phone is as follows.
SW Version Info - GT540-V10A
Firmware Version - 1.6
Baseband Version - AMSS47354005
Kernal Version - 2.6.29

HW Version -GT540_REV_1_0
Factory Version - GT540AT-00-V10a-234-XX-JUN-24-2010
So if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated and i'd be oh so happy

Go on your phones browser go to 4shared.com and download and install Universal Androot.

Ok i have Universal Android Root Installed now, so what can i do now that i have Rooted my LG? whats different to having it as normal?
