I have a 120 gb WD external hard drive. I wanted to be able to use my hard drive with my pc and xbox. So i backed up everything on it and then deleted everything on the hard drive. I then plugged it into my xbox and formatted it. I chose customize and made it only put aside 1gb of space. it formatted perfectly but now when i put it in my pc it wont show up im windows explorer. it keeps making the sound that i have connected it. Then i went and plugged it into the other laptop and it only shows up in device manager. I then plugged it into my xbox 360 and it wont even show up there. So I don't know what to do with it right now. Any help?

Windows XP, right click my computer and click manage.
click disk management
Bottom section should display your WD external
Make sure you are changing the correct disk as you can cause damage/loose data by messing up.
Right click on each of the partitions and click delete.
right click on the unallocated space and go through the format/create partition wizard.

Job done

You need to open it with the USB file opener.
