Yeah um. I think I have a case of just overheating but it's not telling me the error code on screen. I Don't know why but it doesn't. I turned on my jtag booted up freestyle dash (by accident, I've never used it before) the fan speed increased rapidly! (100% I think) and then the screen froze so i turned off the jtag, turned it on and then I had three red rings.

I tryed to get the secondary error code but didn't know how to do it fuly. I held the sync button pressed eject it gave me 4 rings. Pressed again, 1 ring, pressed again, and I can't rember the rest. I think it's like error 0012 which means I have E6 so mabey it's the GPU. I could try the xclamp fix.

Any advice?

Well if you have E6 you need to check you're xclamps and make sure there installed properly, if not you will probably need to install some new ones to you're console.

But watch this video and try it, while you have about 30 minutes until you get RROD again mod you're fans to 12v (if not already). If not you can get it reballed, reflowed or get some more fans installed around you're JTAG (inside), but you need them all of when you do it.

How many red lights and it won't need anything more than another fan pluged in via USB slot and is under the console (like a netbook fan stand). That will probably do the job if it is only now and again.

Anyway, I will be on to help more people at around 9 oclock GMT, I am going in around 15 minutes.

u should tell people how to get secondary error code for 3rrod

turn on console:
press and hold sync after rrod comes up
press eject 4 times and the never of lights on your rol board represents the number.

1 light =1 2=2 3=3 4=0

Your a good member and i respect what your doing, but your providing bogus fixes..

Permanent fixes = professional reball/reflow's.

Pretty much it.

You should take some notes before going nuts, error code only determines whether it's a GPU or CPU error.

Would generally tell an experienced technician whether the board needed a reflow or if a reball is needed.
