Pixel Applications (What you use to make graphic art)

Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is the most well known graphic design software around. That's also the reason why there are hundreds of thousands Photoshop tutorials around. I couldn't list them all so I searched for the most quality tutorials!
I know this aren't much Photoshop tutorial sites but these are high quality sites. Most sites link to this tutorials or copy them from here. If you want tutorials about a specific part of Photoshop please say it to me and I will try to find some good tutorials.

GIMP
Most people call GIMP "The free Photoshop" and they are right! GIMP can do almost everything what Photoshop can but GIMP is free and open source! A good thing to note is that if you are getting better in GIMP it is also possible to convert Photoshop tutorials to GIMP tutorials!

Paint.NET

Paint.NET is free program that is mostly used for fast graphic editing. It isn't as powerful as GIMP or Photoshop but you can still create awesome things with it!

Adobe Fireworks is from the same creator as Photoshop but it is especially created for webdesign (a lot of people use Photoshop for webdesign, anyhow).

Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor. Vector means that you can zoom in forever and it doesnt get blocky what is the problem with pixels. This is most used for logos and drawings.

Coreldraw
CorelDRAW is just like Illustrator a vector editing software. Back in the days CorelDRAW was really popular but at the moment Adobe Illustrator is the industry standard.

Xara Xtreme
Xara Xtreme is not very popular and that is a shame IMO. It is a very good all round piece of graphic editing software and it also has a great community!

C4D's
"An abbreviation for the 3D graphics program Cinema4D. It is also used to describe abstract 3D-gendered graphics often used as special effects in signature making, regardless of if it it was done in Cinema4D or not. Many download such graphics ready-made from the web."

Brushes
"Brushes are in fact imitations of the real-life brushes. The idea is to be able to draw with them the same way we do in traditional art (or even better), so each software (in our case Adobe Photoshop) tends to offer many different brush styles."

FINISHING UP
**************************

What to do when you finish making your gfx art?
1. Upload to an image website. (ei. imageshack)
2. When uploaded, copy the direct link.
3. On the forum, use this in your text "[img][/img]" without the quotes.
4. Paste the direct link in between the two "]["

Remember to thank the topic!

I'll be adding pictures soon after I get back from the market.
