i load into my profile fine and im on the dashboard with xbox live, whenever i load into a game, it doesn't sign me out but says im not connected to xbl and wont let me connect

try not signing in at all. don't sign in at the dashboard, and when XEXmenu prompts you to sign on, ignore it and press the guide button. then when you load MW2, click on XBOX LIVE and sign in from that prompt. see if that works

Yes, Xbox Live Servers were experiencing communication issues yesterday and they have started experiencing the same issues with the past hour.
