Now lets me start by saying I don't live in America but this is still my though on what is happening in the video, and why everyone's reaction is the whole key to what he is trying to explain.

When the video starts you are listening to smooth like music, then obviously he shoots the guitarist and everyone who watched the video realised what happened and are in shock because it was unexpected. Then when you look at Childish the moment after he shoots him he turns from dancing and looking somewhat happy to looking really serious.

But shortly after that the starts to get back into the dancing mood and almost forgets what just happened. (Let me point out if you go and watch reaction videos of this music video you will see almost all of the people do the exact same thing, they will also get back into the music and dance along... I believe this is what he wanted people to do) So he is dancing and he is being somewhat followed but teenagers wearing what I feel are school uniforms and they are copying his dancing.

Now when the choir start singing and when childish walks out dancing and is happy, when you are watching it you will be dancing or getting back into the music, So he shoots the choir and all of a sudden you are shocked again, and that is the whole point of the video "meaning you forgot about the first person getting shot and you where getting back into the music that why the second time the choir gets shot you are shocked again, but all of a sudden he is back to dancing and you as a viewer will do the same.

(Now I know that this rant does not go into every detail about the video because there is to much in it to talk about but I hope you understand where I am coming from with the basic premise of the video).

If you watch people react to the video 90% if not more do the exact same thing, they are shocked with the guitarist getting shot so then they pause the video to somewhat take in what just happened then resume the video and start to dance or move to the music again like they where before the shot scene. Then the choir gets shot and they do the same thing again... pause the video to take in what just happened and once they resume it again they start to get back into the music.

This doesn't seem like a rant, I feel as though you literally just explained the premise of the music video, and how people have reacted to it:? What exactly is your point?

Exactly.

I feel like the point of the video was to explain that after there is a shooting/act of violence in America, we the people go back to our daily lives as if nothing happened, and react surprised when something similar happens. One big cycle

I understand what you guys are saying but what I am trying to say is that everyone I watched who reacted to the video didn't realise that their reaction was the whole point... like the way that they reacted to the video by being shocked and then they quickly change to dancing again (non of them clicked on to what they themselves where doing, like non of they pointed it out... I'm finding this hard to explain in my own words. The viewers see Childish dancing to the music so they joined in even after the first guy got shot... but non of them stopped and went like hold on i'm doing exactly what the video is trying to explain.

I know I might sound like i'm just explaining the point to the video but in my head I realised what was going on with the reactions I watched... But as I said that is just my thoughts

It definitely makes you think a lot while watching the music video.
I was able to catch on to the message pretty quickly, I honestly expected something like it based just on the song title.

Haven't seen what we're talking about? Here ya go:

I understand what you're trying to put across, but these people doing the reaction videos are most likely listening to it for the first time.

I'm sure your first time watching and listening, you thought 'damn this beat good', then when it stopped and he shot the guy sat in the chair you thought 'oh damn, uhm.. what?'.
