Here's a link [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This is a old computer we have sitting around and I want to make it run better for my family as a present cuz the have been complaining about it being slow. I have a budget of up to 120 for it. I was thinking something along the lines of athalon 2 x4 processor maybe another stick of ram so it has 8 gb and then some cheap gpu and some slim form factor psu to power it all

Alright 13 you pc god let's see what you think or anyone else with an idea

if you want to lower the sluggish go with a mid-tier CPU for that socket, the Athlon x4 640. Grab another stick of RAM while not needed could help. You don't need a powerful GPU, you could pick up a cheap LP Radeon 5450 that would be more than enough to power the screen.

sorry I forgot to mention my brother wants to do some light gaming like flight simulator and minecraft nothing too heavy though the thing I'm most concerned about is the psu as it's a 220 watt and a slim form factor is that something that can be upgraded?

It'll be fine lol. The wattage won't be an issue, but I'd worry about the quality of the PSU. It'll be fine for now, but an upgrade in the future would be nice.

Yeah, you're probably going to need a new case to upgrade the PSU.
