This happens to me all the time. I don't usually make new accounts anymore but when I do, that stupid 'Verify your account' security nonsense pops up.

And I've also "exceeded the usage limit" for my phone number so now I ask a friend or a family member for the code. I can understand Microsoft wanting to keep accounts safe but... Why would I need to confirm the account right off the bat?

Spartan wrote You could get s prepaid and some minutes for maybe 20-30$.
Then just buy new SIM card if you need new number

Going to be an expensive habit buying a new sim every time I want to create an account.

Verifying a account is more than keeping it safe, Verifying a account proves you are not a robot making spam email accounts which is something very popular with Outlook emails and its also used to prove you own the information attached to the account in case you need to reset password . While it may seem like a hassle, There is reasoning behind it whether you like it or not. I mean, 1 Person only needs so many email accounts, So you cant be mad at Microsoft for blocking accounts if they believe they are spam accounts.
