Apologies in advance for this topic, bit of an IRL rant but need to get it out somewhere... so i figured a forum of strangers would be the best place

Story/rant time!

Shit started going downhill two weeks ago when I was told my Granddad had passed away. Having to sit at my nan's trying to comfort her, whilst my nan/granddad's daughter was howling with laughter through the walls (They live next door, I don't see my "mum" and don't think she deserves that title) that she got to get his car, all his possessions etc... we then found out she sold EVERYTHING of my granddads the same day and we didn't get a chance to save anything meaningful to us.

It was then his funeral on the Thursday just gone... My family and I were told not to turn up by the bitch mentioned above, because the police would need to be called because shit would kick off... My nan has far from the best health at the moment and her doctors told her that if she went, she would likely have a heart attack... So for her benefit more than anything we didn't go...

Then earlier today, I found out I didn't pass my year at uni and they have decided to terminate my studies... TBH i saw this one coming, but it was still a shock regardless... sucks having put two years of effort into a course and it ending so abruptly because I can't do exams (My mind goes blank when I sit infront of an exam paper)...

And literally 10 minutes ago, my best friend totalled her car on the way home from work, rolling it a couple of times and she blacked out and is currently on her way to hospital... I am waiting for a taxi to take me there, it's 2.30am... I am tired as ****, yet find myself unable to sleep or think clearly... Just a perfect storm over the past couple of weeks...

Once again, sorry for the rant... need to do something whilst waiting for my taxi and this helped...

Hey, Greg. Sorry to read about everything that's going on in your life. Life can become a pretty big bi*** and can kick you down when you least want it to happen.

It's sad to read that your "mum" had to do that with your grandad's possessions, that's a terrible thing to do. But give no heed to it. I understand there could have been possessions to have as keepsakes but not all is bad, you have something she or anybody else can't sell: the memories of your grandad. If you've got any pictures with him, keep them close and safe.

As for your best friend, that's awful. I recently had to go through a similar tragedy with one of my friends from high school; he died in a car crash, was flung out of the vehicle as soon as he hit the wall. So this one hits close to home. I hope she makes a speedy recovery and isn't in any form of coma.

As for the studies... I can understand sitting in front of those stupid pieces of paper and being completely blank. If studying just isn't your thing, consider finding a job that can sustain you. There are people who simply can't (or don't) wish to study and they find jobs; having a job and not studying isn't something to be ashamed of. Not studying and also not having a job and depending on somebody (when you have the ability to work and study) is something to be ashamed of.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that life picks up for you; not everything in life can be pretty colors and roses but life doesn't have to stay a grim gray all the time.

Had kind of a similar situation after my mam died. It's funny people say "Family is everything" but once someone important passes away family is nothing sometime's. But Uni (even though it will be a pain) can be done again. You friend, she will recover. And your grandad will always be in your memories, forever.

Good thing's dont last forever but neither do storms.

PM me if you want. Good thing's are coming your way just hold out until then, You bring alot of happiness to this forum alone even through your hard time's.
