The fact of matter is, even if you sell it you'll have to wipe the HDD. So, just check to see if all the files are correct and to see if any of them are corrupt.

It'll make sense to sell it if it works. Saying you'll rather sell it instead of trying to fix the issue, to me, will normally push people away from said product.
