So I have Teapot Live on my xbox and its asking me to put an email but it's not working. Do I have to connect to the internet first?

Yes you need internet it should work as I did this aswell. then after you restart your console and it updates it and sets your kv and mac I think then it restarts one more time then after you should be good to go.
