Hi all, i am selling a Galaxy S8 Plus on gumtree and have recieved a message asking if they can pay through paypal and if i will post it if they make an upfront payment. Im very sceptical of this, is there anyway to make sure i don't get scammed?

Sell as "Goods and Services" and when you get the tracking number input it in the transaction.

If something goes south, file a dispute with Paypal and you'll get your money back.

You could also have them purchase a paypal cash card.

Make a paypay me link and you can set the currency and the price, so all you do is send them the link and they click next and the money goes straight into your paypal balance, safest and easiest way i find

I wouldn't bother using PayPal selling a phone, I took cash when I sold my phone a few months back

Bill them an invoice and provide tracking information. Best way to do it imo. Better than having them pay with "goods & services" because it gives you more control.
