Hi all, me and a couple of my friends built the same PC using the same parts a while back. I'm running a i5 6600K, MSI Z170-A and a MSI GTX 1070 8GB.

Lately, last couple of months my card (I believe) is starting to under-perform. One of my mates lives with me and he has no issues. Playing games like Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon beta, Miscreated have the most issues. I can't run some games on maximum settings like I used to where my mate can. I get less than 20FPS sometimes whereas my friend is up in the 60-70 area for his FPS. Any game we play together on the same settings, he has a hell of a lot more FPS than I do.

All drivers are up to date, I checked temperatures and dust and everything seems very cool and okay.

Any ideas?

Well, does he have the exact same system as you? If not, you shouldn't be expecting the same performance as him.

Look at load temperatures for CPU and GPU, as well as load percentage for both. Keep an eye on clock speeds for CPU and GPU.

Yes he does have the exact same build as me, it's only started to under-perform in the last month or so, that's why I'm confused.

Already been keeping an eye on my temps and clock speeds but they all seem okay to me

Are you and your friend using the same type as monitor as well? If not then he might be using a lower resolution.

Exactly the same monitor and resolution too. The main issue is still the fact it's only started to do it recently:/

We live together so we have the exact same build.

Since you have the same build as your friend, swap GPU's and see what the performance is like?

Then you can go from there.
