Depends really are you going to be doing stuff to it or keeping it stock? I'd personally get a cheap Honda (parts are cheap and easy to get hold of) pretty quick too. I'd always buy a cheaper car for my first year mate. You in to cars in general?

I'm 20, driving about 1 year 8 months and my insurance is £90 a month currently.

Brilliant car, very reliable and very nice to drive.

Nice whip man. 118bhp? Do you have a blackbox cos £90/month is mega cheap.

I had a 2004 VW Polo as my first car!

I now have a 2016 Seat Leon FR and its good. I'm 19, been driving for just over 12 months now and my insurance is £242/month on it, no black box.
118 sadly yes, it has a box at the moment but in April I'm getting a Fiesta ST-2 instead which is 182bhp, they quoted me £90 monthly on that also but with NO black box, buzzing! My first car was a 2002 VW polo then I had a 2003 Mk4 Golf before the fiesta!

Sick man, what reg is the ST-2? My HR manager has an ST-3 and its insanely quick for what it actually is so I can only imagine that the ST-2 will be along those lines.

I'm upgrading my Leon FR to either a Cupra 300 or S3 in March 2018 which is when I can get insured on them! How unfortunate is this, the '16 Cupra 290 was only around £70 more per month than my Leon FR but I couldn't get insured on it due to my age. Was gutted!

I'm a bit wary of having a box on cars like ours (higher performance than standard cars), I see it as having a high powered vehicle with a restriction on it, making it pretty much a standard car like others. Each to their own though, bet you're blasting your current whip around anyways

Havent found one I want yet but it'll be a 13-15 plate. The ST-2 and ST-3 are the same performance but the ST-3 has built in navigation maps etc that's all, just interior extras!

That'll be idea man, such nice cars tbh so you'll enjoy that ;) eh 118bhp not much to blast round ;)

i would defo go for the low cost cars first choice. There is no need to show off that young with the mercs and bmws. Only go for them once you have a proper stable income and passed all your studies.
Its only now i have a car i want.
2014 Mercedes C class 250amg sport and my insurance is £700 but ive been driving for 5 years now i passed my driving test at 17 and now 23 this year. I graduated university and now in a graduate job so i can afford it.
Ford Fiesta all the way amazing reliable fuel economy cars

Ah thats alright then. I LOVE the interior in the ST-3. 118bhp isn't too bad, once you upgrade you'll love it though man!

Yeah Im leaning slightly more towards the Audi S3 due to their looks! Cupra 300 beats an S3 in performance but I feel like If I got the Cupra, Id just feel like Im driving the my Leon FR but with just more power, Id get bored easily. So I think I may get the S3 Semi Auto! The test drives were completely different too, the S3 was very smooth to drive where as the Cupra felt quite stiff and rigid.

Inb4 you get to power hungry and crash lmao.

Start with a cheaper car then after few months change to higher end if that's really what you want.

Wouldn't advise on buying a car for a few months and then changing a few months later again, its a waste of money and I'm speaking from personal experience.

Buy a car and stick with it, build your NCB and year(s) driving experience then look at upgrading.

Yeah I know that but it seems like he has an urge to go high end. I completely agree with you.
