Contompating building a new main PC, And frankly I want to upgrade my whole setup, possibly dual monitor, I recently built a itx and am in love with it, but as i travel a lot for work and rnr to my other house, I would like a whole new setup where I am at the most! My question is it worth waiting to build an $1,500 usd PC build rn or wait for ryzen? If it isnt worth the wait I need all compents for PC, Plus Monitors (dual) 1440p, willing to spend 2k usd for everything, My guess is 2 monitors will be around 500$ and a great pc around 1500, my past builds have benn 1000$ so I figured Id bump it up, WIll be used strictly for gaming but would like editing capability, Also never had a water cooled PC and i would like to try one out! PC may be overclocked! Do not need any hard drives or SSD, already have spares!

From what I read off of a previous post from the member 13, apparently it is worth the wait, if you really can wait. I'd do some research into any parts you are about to buy just incase though. Regardless, it's going to push a price war between AMD and Intel. Some interesting reading here

Whether or not the wait is worth it is up to you. If you can't wait, you can't wait, but from the looks of it, I'm almost positive Ryzen chips will be available to purchase in less than a month.

I'm not so sure about this anymore. I thought the same but honestly, Intel can drop CPU prices a shit ton and still make profit. Plus, Intel have a lot more money than AMD do so Intel would survive a price war much easier/better than AMD IMO. I don't think AMD want to start a price war with Intel.

Also I'm not sure how much I buy into this 7740k and 7640k news, if Intel release a hyperthreaded i5 after just releasing the 7600k which has not HT, people will go nuts. You just can't, and don't do that to your customers. Plus, it's pretty much going to render i7's absolutely useless. The only way I see Intel making a HT i5 is if the i7 has more cores, so like 4C/8T i5 and a 6C/12T i7, but Intel aren't going beyond quad cores for the mainstream platform quite yet. I'm pretty sure that's planned for Cannon Lake or Coffee Lake or whatever they're supposed to release in 2018 is called.

My opinion;
Zen is going to be huge. It might not change pricing much, it might not offer significantly better performance for similar pricing, but it will bring back options for people buying CPUs. I feel like Intel are still going to offer slightly better IPC, but the Ryzen equivalent will be slightly cheaper and have a higher core/thread count.

So I think i will wait until it drops! thank you very much! In other aspects of the build, my monitors, what would be a good monitor setup for around 500$ usd, Would like 2 monitors

QNIX QX2710 probably. Wait until you build the system and buy peripherals at the same time though I'd say.
