Try updating / downloading an ethernet controller driver for your computer. My PC was doing the same thing but then i put the ethernet adapter on it and it worked fine.

Update drivers and click on the troubleshoot network when you have it plugged in, it will then tell you why it is not working.

Could be a winsock problem, Open Administrative CMD and type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotations) wait for it to finish then type "netsh winsock reset & netsh int ipv4 reset & netsh int ipv6 reset" (without the quotations). wait for it to finish then type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotations) and restart the computer. Let me know if it works.

Also could it be something to do with my motherboard, it's brand new so i can't see why?
