Trying to get back into designing, so I am just playing around with a new header that I am making for myself.

I was thinking the same thing.

I played around with the bg, and made the blue pop a bit more

Yeah definitely, if you can find a clean photo too use it would look dope!

I take it you're just messing with Layer Styles right now right? Basic but you're on the right lines of clean.

It looks appealing, are you using a pure white for the background? It's so bright imo.
Try filling the bg so its not all white, maybe adding gray gradients here and there, to give it a sort of flow.
