Happens in the UK too but more to scare people. It's not uncommon for a news report to feature a photo of someone stood outside someones house in clown stuff head to toe, at like 2am.

There has been a few locally, when I was younger I was terrified of clowns, not so much now. My daughter is though. If a clown comes and tries to scare my daughter, bet your ass he is gonna get his ass kicked.
