Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?

Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?

During the day, computer screens look goodthey're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

f.lux

f.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.

It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.

It is basically a program that turns your display on either your monitor or your mobile devices into a warmer color pallet instead of bright whites and harsh blues.

I use it on a day to day basis and was just curious if anyone uses it themselves. Thanks.

I used to have f.lux on my jailbroken iPhone months ago but once I reversed the jailbreak I kind of forgot about it. I just downloaded it on my macbook and I forgot how gorgeous it actually is and the benefits you get from using it. I instantly noticed that my eyes were a lot more settled after setting up the color tones and I believe everyone should use this if they're used to bright-white screens all day every day. This is very useful and I recommend it to anyone that spends a vast amount of time using technology with bright screens.

I use the night shift on my phone and I have flux installed but it was making my start up slower on my PC so I stopped it from starting when my PC did but now that you mentioned it I just enabled it.

I've used flux for years. I have similar apps on my phone for when I browsing in the evening/night as well.

I use twilight on android, and on iOS 10 the feature is built in. I always use these because studies have shown that blue light affects your sleep cycle, and since I started using this feature I find that it does help if I'm using my device at night closer to when I go to bed.

My monitor actually has a built in low blue light mode with different settings. Its nice at night but I often forget about it and leave it on during the day so my colours don't look as nice.
