  • It may be anything that a YouTuber / Creator might find helpful.
  • It may be a simple / easy tip or something a little more advanced.
  • You don't have to agree with all tips posted, so please do not turn this thread into a discussion thread. Share your tips, read other's tips, and get on with your day. This is not the place to flame others or boost your post count.

I thought it would be cool to have a whole thread of YouTube tips that are short and easy to read.

Here's my tip:

In a time where MCNs / Networks aren't needed by most, think twice before signing your channel away to a YouTube Network for a "partnership". I would be happy to help you evaluate any deals you may have in the pipeline for your channel - just shoot me a PM (I have worked in YouTube Networks for 6+ years).

I am looking forward to hopefully reading some replies from you guys. My goal here is to build up the thread to a point where we can scan 10 pages of replies and find 100 tips. If one of those tips helped you, this thread is worth it.

I could spend all day typing up a thread full of YouTube growth-hacks and tips, but that would only be one man's knowledge. The goal here is to have the community help drive this thread too.

Thanks!
JRT

I can add one of the tips as I see now all over Youtube. Most Youtuber's just rush their content and they follow others. They're not original. I would say be more unique and be yourself. Enjoy what you're doing. Don't rush what you're doing otherwise that's how things go wrong.

. Mis-spelling in your Thumbnail
. Your edit is not to your needs, example - Mistakes when editing (that's the worst)

Just take your time and have fun!

Thank you for your tips, definitely some value added here. I do agree that mistakes when editing may not be a big deal for yourself, but they do scream out to the viewers who see them.

Moral of the story: Watch your video three to four times over and check for errors before uploading.

Thanks!

Don't join the first youtube network you come across. (coming from an ex sub network owner).

Do research first, Freedom network is just a no no in my opinion,

Better to just go direct with youtube until you get offered something better by a network.

Good advice! Not trying to bash any MCNs here, but I would definitely recommend doing your research first. Especially with networks like Freedom.

Thank you for dropping by and sharing your tip, Dashii!

Might aswell do another. This doesn't apply to everyone but it should help a few people.
If you have connections, use them. The only reason when youtubers became famous was because they collaborated with friends who had massive channels. (bashurr for example. No one knew him until he started to collaborate with bigger friends).

It is much harder to get far on YouTube without any connections. Especially if you do unoriginal content such as a minecraft survival series.

Another great tip, thanks Dashii. +Rep for you!

Collaboration is so important nowadays. Just remember that double, triple, or quadruple the viewership reach = more subscribers and organic traffic for you and your own channel!

Thanks again!

I made a thread like this a month back and it got deleted. Hmm.

Anyways, some tips, make sure to use proper tags, don't use tags like "FaZe Rain" if you're recording Minecraft. It might get you views, but also will get you dislikes.

Make your title stunning, but not complete clickbait make sure it matches your video.

Thumbnails are very important, make it eye grabbing but make sure it relates to the video. You can put a naked girl on there, most likely will get views but once them 12 year old boys realize its a Battlefield 1 video they'll probably leave a dislike.
