I've been doing photography for about a year now and I'm currently taking a photography course in high school. This is my second topic regarding a photoshoot I've done for my friends. You can refer to my first photoshoot topic by clicking here.
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T5 SLR with a 18-55 mm lens.

These are pretty decent! I like the first one the best. I don't have much for criticism because I'm no expert myself.
I need to find a girl like that one in white lmao

I feel that all of these photos are slightly underexposed and feel very flat.
Try working with the light around you to create areas of depth and try using a lower f.stop to achieve more depth.
The lens you are working with now is a kit lens, do some study on different areas of photography and maybe invest ins a more specialized piece of glass.

Thank you for your feedback! I'll be sure to try working with the light around me more to create areas of depth. Also, I've been planning on purchasing a new lens but I'm not quite sure which one I'd be interested in purchasing at the moment.

I know nothing about photography..
But I am pretty decent with Photoshop. The girl on the right seriously needs eye bag removal. Wouldn't take long to do but maybe your doing a natural shot IDK.

My budget would be around $100 - $500 which is definitely not enough to afford the best portrait lens but something that's better then the kit lens which I'm currently stuck using would hopefully be an improvement.

Here is a lens that would greatly help with shooting portraits.
Now with this your frame will be relatively closed and there will be extremely minimal room for in lens cropping.
So what this means is you will be the frame, so get comfortable with moving a lot, shifting an inc here and an inch there to achieve your shot, and sitting in mud (:
The way I knew it was no good photographer makes it out bug bite or tick latched free with a macro lol
In addition to being a good portrait lens you will have the ability to take great close up (macro) photography.
Now remember this is a 60mm lens which means you will need to be withing 25ish feet of your subject.
