Yeah , a couple people have told me at 175lbs id look lean but I was 175 before I started and I just looked fat , presuming I was going to do a clean bulk id look lean at 175lbs yeah? Also I'm 16 if that makes any difference?


Well keep in mind that you're still growing. I wouldn't worry about it too much because most people around our ages are kinda slim (I'm 17 turning 18).


I was just concerned as I always used to be kinda chubby! yet it is true were still growing , just got to 181cm, Thanks!

I'd bulk and then cut.

As someone said above, you can either choose to build muscle or lose fat. There's no real inbetween. You're either in a caloric surplus or defecit.

If you're at 6'0 and 165 lbs and you can't see abs, you're probably around 15-18% bodyfat which means you're going to have to lose a decent amount of fat before you start looking defined. Not to mention, if you decide to cut, you wont have much muscle left to show off, even if it is defined. You're best off bulking up until about 20% bodyfat and then cutting after a year or two of bulking.

Things like this take time, if you're just looking for an endurance type build and you're not worried about carrying a small amount of muscle then you could probably cut down and look defined and it wouldn't take longer than a few months. However, if you're willing to be patient and spend a year or two then you could have a lot more muscle and a better looking physique.

I would bulk then cut next summer, i am 5'8 160 and wanna get to like 175ish before i cut
