I want to upgrade my pc and wanted to know what would be best to upgrade.

Specs

MSI Z170A SLI PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Processor

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz

MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Operating System

Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit

I was thinking about getting Intel core i7, corsair vengeance 4x8gb RAM and maybe a GTX 1080 or something like that, what would be the best to upgrades? I use my pc for gaming.

Either add another GTX 970, or upgrade to a GTX 1070 for GPU. GTX 1080 isn't worth the $700 price tag considering an overclocked GTX 1070 can almost match it's performance. No need to upgrade to an i7 IMO, your 6600k should still be perfectly fine, especially if it's overclocked. 16GB RAM is plenty, no need to upgrade your RAM, but if you do, just add another 2x8GB, don't replace your current RAM, that's just a waste of money. You could add an SSD, or more SSD storage if you already have an SSD. You could upgrade case/PSU, depending on quality.
