Ted Cruz is quitting the presidential race, according to campaign manager Jeff Roe, ending one of the best-organized campaigns of 2016 after a series of stinging defeats left Donald Trump as the only candidate capable of clinching the nomination outright.
Cruz had appeared likely to go all the way to the Republican convention, but a string of massive losses in the Northeast, and his subsequent defeat in Indiana, appear to have convinced him theres no way forward.
John Kasich, however, pledged on Tuesday night to stay in the race until a candidate reaches 1,237 bound delegates.

I'm really not surprised at this point.
It'll be great to see how Glenn Beck back-tracks his way out of saying, 'Ted Cruz has been chosen by God to become President' over and over again.

I'm honestly not surprised, earlier he had what I guess can be claimed as a meltdown when a news correspondent asked him a question, he lost his cool when Trump said Cruz's dad could have had a roll in the JFK assassination (which I think Trump just said to piss Cruz off,) Trump's son then compared Cruz to a 3 year old kid coming off a sugar high, and then Cruz ended up losing Indiana. So after today being a rough day for him and pretty much the past couple of debates, I'm not surprised he dropped out, I honestly expected him to leave after losing New York or after the big 5 losses last Tuesday.

Cruz is Trump on steroids, just less flamboyant. Though what Cruz has over Trump is being a dangerous religious zealot.

This was inevitable. Cruz's campaign was really dying towards the end. He won like 4 counties yesterday. Interesting to live through a new wave of politics, though. The anti-establishment force is winning a lot of people over.
