Im looking for a new GPU to buy and use, the one I currently have is a 280x, which isn't all bad, but I want something that performs better with modern games.
Games I would be looking at playing are GTA V, Blops 3, ARK, Dying light, etc. I can play all these games as is, but they're not the prettiest with this card.
Locale is Australia.

For that budget, at best all you'll get brand new is a 380 which essentially is just a re-branded 280X. Not going to make that much difference really and shouldn't really be considered justifiable but that's up to you.

What are your current specs?
Current make and model of case and power supply?

Might be worth thinking about adding another 280X in Crossfire if your rig is capable, that way you would get more GPU performance for your money instead of a single re-branded 280X.

380 is a rebranded 285, but yeah, a 380 will perform either about the same as the 280x in most games, maybe a little better in certain games, but there are games were the 280x will take the lead over a 380. Your cheapest logical upgrade would be a 390/970, which will set you back $450-$500 at least. At this point, I'd wait a couple months for Polaris, and Pascal.

If you do have crossfire support, and can find another 280x for a decent price, then yeah, crossfire 280x wouldn't be a terrible option.

Current build is: MOBO: ASUS P8H77-M LE
RAM: Kingston DDR3 (2x4) 8GB
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Tri-X OC 3GB
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 CPU
PSU: Corsair CS650M Gold 650W
HDD: Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 2TB
Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-03

Might just wait out a GPU upgrade, cant crossfire it with this motherboard I'm sure. Looking at this build, is there any other upgrades you guys suggest that I should look at?
