The 980 wouldn't be an improvement because it'd be a bad purchase. A 970/390 would be a large improvement though, yes. The 970/390 are the best priced cards around at the minute IMO.

RAM is fine, 20GB is more than plenty. Since you've got an SSD, a GPU is your next logical upgrade really IMO, though more SSD's are never a bad choice lol

I've done it. Upgraded my PSU to a 600W as I only had a 350W, and I've bought the GTX 970. Gave my PC a nice format tonight, and the parts are coming tomorrow morning.
