I found FL Studio 12 Producer edition as a torrent and it's a really great program to produce music

Ableton, FL Studio, Reason, Logic Pro etc are all great, justg depends which one you want to use. I use FL Studio for music production as I'm very familiar with it now.

My band and I use Cubase 6 for recording demos. When we do final recordings we use pro tools. If you need drums, superior drummer is the best VST plugin you can get for realistic sounding drums.

Its personally up to you

What the pros use:
FL Studios(top 3)
Ableton live(top 3)
Pro Tools(Mac)(top 3)
Logic
Reason

But, I personally FL Studios, because i know it well. Its really based on personal preference. I would just do some research, and use their trials!
