Hey guys a friend of mine is looking to get into PCs gaming and as asked me if I could post on here. He said he doesn't want the monitor, keyboard etc to be included in the budget as he wants to spend the 800 for the parts on the tower

What is your budget and currency? 800GBP
Do you need a monitor? Yes
Do you need a keyboard? Yes
Do you need a mouse? Yes
Do you need an operating system? Yes
What will you use the PC for? Gaming for games like fallout 4 and Ark Survival

Right so 800GBP on the PC it's self and how much on monitor, mouse and keyboard then?

For the build it's self, I would probably get this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Will handle most games you throw at it. Nice SSD for OS and a few games. Stock cooler will do fine for now. Can add another 970 in SLI in the future if needed.

Alternatively there is always this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Pretty much the same except a 390 instead of a 970 but you can add another 390 in XFire if needed as well but if you know that's not going to be a option then the PSU can be dropped down to a 650W G2 instead.

He hasn't given a price for them he just wants a decent one that will do the job.

We can't suggest anything without a budget. Also, if he has like £600 for peripherals, and £800 for a PC, it'd be better putting like 1k to the PC, and £300-400 on peripherals. So it would definitely be handy to know the overall budget, including peripherals.

Also, for Dan's 390 suggestion, change the PSU. The EVGA 850W G2 is the same price as the Seasonic unit suggested, but is gold rated, as opposed to bronze(and is still fully modular). I have the 850G2 myself, great PSU.

1440p monitor, mech keyboard and a nice mouse. Get the OS from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Nice little cooler so you don't have to use stock, SSD for OS and a couple of games/programs. Can go with the 390 instead of the 970 if you want but you'll need to spend an extra tenner for the 500W XFX PSU. Can get it a little cheaper by getting 8GB RAM instead, but 16GB is beneficial in newer games.
