To start of with what hardware I have, my CPU (APU) is an A10-7850K and I have a R9 380. On the 7850K, I'm just using the CPU, the GPU cores are not being used, at least I hope they aren't. I was running a stress test on my CPU using Aida64, and whenever I added the GPU to the stress test, the clock on the 7850K drops from just under 4,000 Hz to just under 3,000 Hz. This would actually make a lot of sense as I have been experiencing massive frame drops when gaming, but just assumed it was because I'm using a shit tier AMD CPU with a stock cooler.

Why is the clock dropping, and can I do anything to prevent it?

You mentioned stock cooler, what temperature is the processor running at when you are running these benchmarks?

When the stress GPU is off, the CPU goes up to 74C and the cores go up to 61C. When the GPU is added to the stress the temperatures drop to the CPU being 54C and the cores at 40C. I don't think that temperature is the issue.

Bumping because this is still an issue I have yet to fix after hours of googling.
