my instructor has told me get my theory out the way so its done, but i have been looking around for good apps. books ect... to try and practice but i dont seem to be able to keep anything in. i was just wondering what books or apps or whatever that people have used?

buy the official DVSA Dvd (or the app linked above) the the questions you get asked are exactly the same (very similar) .. and i done about 6% of the DVD and went and past my theory 1st time

get the DVSA App, and get the book its very helpful go over it , Theory is pretty common knowledge but there are some dodgy questions.

I did my theory 2 years ago when I was 17 and I passed first time using the app mentioned above, would definitely recommend that over any book, a few weeks later I passed my test so If I was you I'd try and get it done asap so you can move onto the test. Also good luck with the driving as well!

The AA one is really good, both the book and online.

Annihilation- wrote I don't live in the UK. I live in the US and you get a manual.

Then your commented is not needed!

@OP I used the DVLA official theory DVD, it comes with study sessions, quick tests and official mock tests to practice on. Also included in the DVD is a hazard perception disk which gives you the real video etc from the test. Plus it has the highway code and roadsign practoce sheets etc etc.

Honestly it's the best way to study for it, apps are dreadful and book are generally poor as well.

I did my theory a year back now and passed it first time pretty much when I started my driving lessons.

The official DVSA app is the best, it cost £4.99 but it helped me pass with flying colours.

I Am 18 and I passed my test a month ago and it was the best feeling ever and i was like you at one stage I was going give up because I failed my test a couple times but I stuck to it and I got it done in the end.

I'm so happy its out of the way now but good luck for when you take your theory and your future driving.
