So I recently started to play league of legends. I am currently level 10 and I am having a lot of fun at the moment. Since I am at a low level that games are easy. But I want to be prepared for when I get to level 30 and it gets really hard. What would be the best way to improve and be ready for level 30 games? I know actually playing the game is going to make me improve, but it would be great to have some other methods.

Also, is there a really good way to learn the mechanics of the game? Like learning the items and what they do?

The biggest way i learned to play was watching streams on [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I just found a streamer than mains the role i liked to play most and learned from them. There are some streamers that teach the game more than others but just going stream to stream and learning different things about how the game works and what to do and when to do it helps.

Watch YouTube videos, play alot of PvP and ARAM is good to see what random champs are like keep mixing between champs dont stick to one. Also try other lanes and roles to keep you interested.

One of the best things to learn from is informative streamers.

If I had to gives some advice I would break it down into three things.

Buy wards.
Having vision is key to a victory. I always am sure to have a pink ward placed somewhere. It's only 75 gold, well worth it I try to get it on the second back.

Map awareness.
Because you are pre 30 this can be an issue since your temates could be very new or even worse bronze 5 For example, if you see someone missing on the other lane ping it, look at the map. Also be sure to call out summoner spells just by typing "Annie flash down" could be very useful.

Last hit.
If you are laning this is a must because it is your primary source of gold income.

Some things newer players need to learn:

1. How to cs properly - Getting last hits on as many creeps as you can is ridiculously important in staying ahead or coming back, as although kills are worth more, if you have much more cs than the person killing you, it's easier than if he has kills on you and you're behind in cs.

2. Positioning - Lots of newer players like to yolo in or don't watch where they are or know who is where, so it's easier to be ganked or get caught out.

I would give more tips, but I have to go fairly soon so I needed to make this brief.

Good luck and have fun man!

Read guides, find your favourite champion and main it. Don't rush into ranked, if you rush into ranked you'll be put in bronze and will probably be tilted for the rest of your life. I waited, got experience, and got placed in silver iv the first time I played ranked.
Focus on CSing and think about every action you do

Make goals, mine was to play every champion which was easy thanks to the free rotation, I really recommend it as it means whenever I play against someone I know exactly what their champion can do.

It usually depends on the role you play. Since each role has a specific task they must accomplish. However all must know how to position themselves as well as having map awareness (really important).

The biggest thing that helped me was learning patience. Patience will take you far in this game. Even when you, or your team is behind, take you time be patient and take advantage of the oppositions mistakes and capitalize on them.

Chasing for the most part is a bad idea, it has to be looked at a base to base situation but here's how I see it, in ranked (I am silver 4 so nothing to impressive) people will chase the enemy support into the enemy jungle with the entire opposing team alive. 4/5 times they die. Just one example take you time to look for key mistakes in your team mates and your own gameplay.

HAVE FUN. No matter how frustrated you WILL get stay positive and have fun because you are playing at your own discretion and raging at the game will not cause anything but a loss.

Hope I helped,

Kuuuush
